I just wanted to thank you again for
everything you have done for me. I am so glad we met a while
back....we were supposed to meet. I pray that you are a life long
friend of mine. I love you and respect you beyond belief! I just had
to tell you I love you very much! Thanks to all of the girls who came
out to take the veil workshop with Amara Al Amir that I hosted
yesterday! We had the best time and worked very hard too! We learned a
whole routine using unique double veil work! The girls are begging
for a double cane in the summer! Just wanted to share these pics
with all of my sisters in dance!

“Very useful information - “PURE Gold” as I like to say. Organized very well, nice location, I left exhausted but happy and inspired to take things to the next level:…Haala |
| Thank you so much for taking the time to
produce and distribute your wonderful videos. After viewing the first 4 I
purchased, I liked them so much I had to come back for more. The
performance videos are great! They show a diverse range of styling and
venues. Aside from the pure enjoyment of watching talented dancers, I've
also learned a great deal from watching these.Your instructional and
workshop videos provide a great amount of detail, instruction and
explanation. My favorites are the Integrating & Layering Shimmies &
Vibrations and the Cane Technique A-Z Workshops. They both pack a TON of
information into 2 hours. You're an AWESOME lady and I appreciate your
willingness to share your knowledge!...Jami Chance |
| "Amara is an incredible teacher. No
matter what your level is- she will find an exclusive approach to
improve your skills. Her lessons are amazing and
fun journeys into a magical world of oriental dance. It is
surprising how much you are able to grow and learn when the process is
so enjoyable .She not only teaches exquisite technique, but also
concentrates on other important aspects that are necessary to become a
well rounded dancer: history of dance, facial expression, public
interaction , costume coaching, etc. Her tremendous performing
experience makes her invaluable treasure of information.
There is no other teacher who shares her skills
with such attention to detail and passion."...Tatiana, Belly

| I found your videos and DVD's very informative with respect to a teaching value, putting together choreographies and costume ideas. They contain a wealth of information for teachers and students of the dance no matter what level. Thank you Amara...Marily (Ma'isha) Saint John, New Brunswich, Canada (Journey Along the Nile Vol 1 &@, Mosaic Vol 1 &@, Raks Al Asaya Vol 1 & 2) |
| I really enjoyed your workshop very much! I loved the dance! I can't wait to get the video! What I liked is that you gave handouts, that you offer the video of the workshop and your actual performance of it along with your talking, and that you brought a joyful fun spirit to the afternoon. I liked your choice of music and your interpretation. I also liked that your class was small and intimate enough. It was nice to have a range of background and levels of dance experience represented in your students and in your class. The material was really great and useful!...Levanah, New York City (Kasilama w/Tambourine to 9/8 Workshop) |

| As a new dancer I was a bit nervous and intimidated about attending a workshop with a teacher I did not know, especially one of Amara's excellent reputation. I was warmly welcomed and made to feel "at home" immediately. Amara was very concerned, accessible for questions, down to earth and made a point to speak to me several times during the day to see how I was faring. The workshop covered a tremendous amount of material, and I am thrilled to receive a videotape of the whole session so I can reinforce what I learned at home, that is such an excellent bonus to include when giving a workshop! Amara is a very generous, caring instructor, it is immediately apparent how much she loves her art, and she really wants to share that with her students. Watching her perform the dance we learned, from beginning to end, at the conclusion of the workshop was a thrill...Janet M. | " It is a really good instructional video. You don't just show a step and move on to something else, you go over it and explain it, and I like that you are up on a platform in front of a mirror. You come across as being warm and friendly, not aloof and that makes a big difference to students. You want the dancers to learn and it shows. I also liked the performance you did, it gave me encouragement, Thank you"...Deborah McDuffle, Montclair, NJ (Shimmies & Vibrations Workshop & Video) |

"Thank YOU for a sharing your knowledge and talent with all who attended. Venera & I commented that your approach is conducive to learning. There is no other teacher who would share so much of herself and also provide the attendees with not only choreography notes but also music and most important a video. I can't tell you how many workshops I have taken and forgotten because I don't have a video for reference. Thank you again and I look forward to taking many more of your workshops"....Kathy Shorr, Queens, NY |

"I’ve
loved your videos. They really are wonderful and have such a diverse
assortment of artwork! Helpful in every way! I think that for
dancers who would like to learn about folkoric styles, your products have
incredible teaching value! |

I really enjoyed it, we so often forget arms and face so othe focus on that was great!. Also, the break down on layered shimmies was really helpful to me”…Megan Freeman |
| "Amara had a way of knowing to look for, detect, and correct the problems that came up when I just couldn't do certain moves. She showed me different moves and created choreographies that I can still use today in my dance. She introduced me to a lot of wonderful Middle-Eastern music. I owe a lot of my development to her. I consider her to this day to be my teacher and my friend. studied with Amara Al Amir privately and in her classes when she was in the New York area. I was still very new to Mid-East dance and with very little other types of dance training. She showed much love, warmth, humor, and patience. She made our lessons and classes fun and challenging. Thank you Amara. Blessings," Levanah |
"The workshop was a lot of fun, and I learned many new steps and combinations. Amara displays so much excitement and love for the dance, and it really inspires and motivates participants. I also like the way Amara begins her workshops with some discussion around the background and history of the dance. It helps me to "understand" the dance more and the emotion I should project as I perform. The choreography from this workshop will be incorporated into a performance piece for a group of us at Tapestry Dance Academy. "....Karsilama Workshop w/skirt & tambourine, Raleigh, NC Photos
