We will learn what makes famous dancers of Egypt like Naqua Fouad, Sohair Zaki, Mona, Nelli, Karaman, Tahia Carioca, Hannan, Samia Gamal, Naima Akef and even today's stars like Dina tick. You've seen the videos and now learn how to dance from the soul, common moves that look gentle and so perfect with the music. Amara sponsors a Egyptian Dance Styles Workshop once a month for those students in and out of the area, unable to attend classes at Tapestry or just want to further their knowledge and technique. You will learn; Ghawazee, Andalucian, Saidi, Zar, Beledi, Hagalla, Fellaha and more.  Amara has researched, choreographed, costumed, staged and produced authentic Egyptian Folkloric Dances for 32 years. Awarded performances for the UN Arab Culture Club and the Division of Egypt Tourism.  Amara will teach Folkloric steps and moves to adapt to Orientale Cabaret, Tribal Fusion and Pop Music. We will apply new steps during the workshop improvisationally as well.
