Dear Professional Students,
This is my first step into passing the torch. After 35 years in a very successful career in Belly Dance, I am now ready to provide you with the secrets and professional experience I have acquired during my career. One of the best ways to advance your dancing skills is to actually teach this art form. Now is the opportunity for you to learn and develop a career that extends beyond troupe and solo dance to an exciting career as a business person and producer of events. Hold onto your hip belts, since this is a process that will evolve and you are privileged to participate in this process.
Attendance in the various levels of programs provides you the Teacher with credentials and skills for teaching Belly Dance at a professional level. This includes all styles of Middle Eastern Dance; Orientale, Folkloric, Regional and Contemporary. These programs provide business acumen to develop a business plan, marketing and coaching for the aspiring and professional Teacher. These programs provide a career opportunity for dancers. Certification is achieved by completing various levels of these programs.
Levels will include; How to instruct Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced/Professional students and Marketing. Other Levels will include advanced marketing, how to choreograph groups and solos for students, techniques for instruction of props and costume design. Levels will include the history of Belly Dance to contemporary Belly Dance internationally and the study of music for Belly Dance.
Each of 3 workshops will include all aspects of the curriculum in a progressive style for mastering and planning the start up of your Belly Dance School. Fee is $75 paid in advance for each session. Register here

About Amara Al Amir

Amara Al Amir is certainly one of the most
glamorous and expressive dance artists in America today. Amara’s joyful dancing
plus her full range of inventive steps, moods and styles emerges as one of the
most magnetic and tantalizing dance experiences you will ever witness.
Amara is the Artistic Director of Tapestry
Dance Theatre and Tapestry Belly Dance Academy. She is a concert performer for
35 years and a Master Teacher originating from New York, now residing in North
Carolina. She teaches workshops nationally and is a guest lecturer of new and
old world dances of the Middle East. She has been awarded performances for the
United Nations, The Tourism Authority for Egypt and Egypt Air and The Egyptian
American Professional Society. She is Founder and Director of MEDLS, Middle
Eastern Dance Leaders Society and has been successfully producing educational
dance workshops and dance programs for stage, fund-raisers, corporate functions,
as well as cultural events for more than 30 years.
Amara Al Amir owned and operated World
Artists’ Productions, the largest Entertainment Agency for Booking of Belly
Dancers in New York. WAP also provides entertainment for all types of functions.
Amara has personally performed in more than 10,000 shows over 35 years. Amara
has a degree in Marketing and has an extensive background in advertising,
marketing and technology solutions.
Amara also is the producer of COLLECTIONS
DVDS/VIDEOS which comprises a collection of performance and workshop video,
produced live and in concert or workshops. Amara is also the owner of Amara’s
Emporium, a local costume boutique and online store.
Amara’s has a dance training background in
jazz and ballet since she was five. She began the study of Belly Dance with the
Mother of Belly Dance “Serena Wilson”, publisher of the Serena Technique which
is the finest foundation of Belly Dance technique available. Amara continued her
dance training with the renowned
Ibrahim Farrah,
Yousry
Sharif, Elena Lentini,
and Ramzi El Edlibi among others.
Egyptian Dance training followed with Mahmoud Red, Rakia Hassan, Ibrahim El
Douchoury and Nadia Hamdi, both here and in Egypt.
Amara Al
Amir is currently the organizer of the Raleigh-Durham Belly Dance Meetup
Socials, the Tapestry Yahoo Group and the MEDLS Yahoo Group. She has produced
programs for the Carolina Theatre Donors Committee, the Museum of Science
Brimley Ball celebrating the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit, the Durham Arts Council
MEDLS Show and a multi media event at the Cameron Library.
