GUIDELINES FOR A SUCCESSFUL EVENT

Dear MEDLS Member,

You are invited to participate in our next MEDLS event. If you are awarded a performance slot, please read this Guidelines for a Successful Event.

As a performer, you are are issued an Accredited Honorary Members Card. You find many benefits on our MEDLS Members Pages under How To Become A Member & BENEFITS. We are adding more benefits all the time.

Please note your performance time as sent to you and plan to arrive at least two hours before your performance to sign in. (We had dancers show up 15 minutes before their show). Please note these guidelines to ensure a smooth running event

All dancers must fill out this PERFORMANCE FORM with all information requested and return ASAP.
All performers will be expected to eat or drink something (this is how we have space at Lafayette Grill to perform) and are offered a discounted meal ticket and free drink ticket. Please pay at the front door upon arrival. Free Door Ticket For you.
All performers will keep their performance to less than 7 minutes please.
Please check in at the front desk and at the back desk.
Please give your music immediately to the Music Manager. Please bring your music on CD or tape, (carry your own backup in case of problem). Label your music with your dance name Make sure you test your music and have it cued up if it is a tape.
Go to the dressing room located down the stairs at the end of the restaurant to dress and store your costume bag. Keep all valuables like wallets and credit cards locked up or in your car or at home. Hide necessary items deep in our bags, etc. (We are not responsible for lost or stolen items). To avoid congestion, please come in costume & wear a cover-up in the restaurant if you are dancing early. Please do not stay in the dressing room area after you are dressed to make room for other dancers (Be friendly and courteous).
Please be on the back platform 2 dance pieces before yours and notify the stage manger you are ready. We cannot come look for you. If you miss your dance, we will give you an opportunity to perform later on if possible.
If you must cancel your slot, please contact us by phone ASAP so we can fill it with standbys. Even an emergency happens that day, make sure to email or call after the show, so you are not categorized as a no-show. No-shows will not be offered future performance opportunities. Amara 516 208 9595.
A newsletter and flyer will be sent to you to print out, hand out, and…very important… email to your personal database. As a MEDLS member, you are expected to assist in promoting our event and we need to work together to spread the wordt. We are one community committed to promoting our Art to the world. We look forward to a successful event and remember to invite your friends and family.

VERY IMPORTANT...All dancers are expected to eat at Lafayette Grill. We have arranged a special deal for you. You will pay $10 at the door and get a meal token that will be a special *enhanced meal from DINO just for you, you will have a couple of choices also (you may exchange it for other items on the menu as well). Plus you will receive a FREE token for a FREE Drink from Dino. We don't know what turnout we will have of course, so we need to at least let Dino cover his expenses of opening on Sunday just for us and hiring staff. Besides, why wouldn't you want to sit back and enjoy the show, we must provide an attentive audience for each other including of course our friends and family and other dancers who come to watch. This is not an event for a dancer to show up, perform and run. It is our event, we will derive from it what we put into it. To see dancers from all over the region is the best education and exposure we can have. So many dancers under one roof and you are one of them. WOW!
